There are dozens of interior styles, and all of them are quite easy to realize, if the customer knows exactly what he wants. The difficulty lies precisely in choosing the right style, which will not only be able to demonstrate the tastes of the owners, but will also be convenient in everyday life. Convenience and comfort are the key indicators of a professionally created interior, regardless of its style.

If you have had no previous involvement with design, you may not have specific style preferences.

The work begins with the fact that the designer shows you illustrations or photos with projects that have characteristic features of different styles – this will help to understand approximately what exactly you like, and decide on the options. This does not mean that you should completely copy the examples you like – most often you want to take details from different projects and implement them in your home.

The designer will help to bring all these wishes together as harmoniously as possible and create an environment with a unique atmosphere and character.

Tasks of the designer at the stage of choosing the interior style

Identify the real needs of the customer. Perhaps you, as a customer, like some ready-made examples in a certain style, but in reality you do not need such an interior. For example, you just like the atmosphere, furniture arrangement or color scheme. Sometimes such a key factor in the choice can even be the right lighting, which makes the interior especially attractive. Studying the finished examples, the designer extracts from them exactly what you like – and in the end, all these details, seen in different projects, add up to an ideal picture for you. At this stage, the final decision on the choice of style is made.

Adapt all the selected ideas to the family’s lifestyle. This task is extremely important for the subsequent organization of everyday life, so that you do not have to make additional efforts to maintain the interior in the original form. Many styles and specific solutions that look beautiful in pictures can be difficult to transfer to real interiors so that they remain as aesthetically pleasing in real life. The specialist will recommend those style directions in which all members of the family will be comfortable, and maintaining the aesthetics of the environment will not require any extra effort.

Eclecticism

Now in fashion eclecticism – combining elements from different styles in one interior. Here it is important to choose the right combination of shades, textures and shapes, so that eclecticism looked like a conscious design technique, and not as a random set of items.

The optimal option – to choose one main direction, which impresses you on the key principles of space organization, as well as 2-3 additional, which will be used to create accents.

Matching style to lifestyle

To make the environment not only beautiful, but also functional, it is necessary to assess in advance the applicability of the chosen style in relation to your lifestyle.

For example, if you like sports, active lifestyle and everything dynamic, but in pictures you like classicism – most likely, you need to look for a compromise. Surrounding yourself with understated and refined things, not being used to living in such an environment – it may be too tiring. A designer can help you find a balance between the lifestyle you are used to and your ideas of ideal style.

Family wishes

As a rule, in families, the initiator of creating a new interior is one person. The rest of the family may have a consultative voice or may not be interested in the whole process.

Nevertheless, it is important to keep them informed about what the interior will be and what is being done for this. As practice shows, at different stages in the work on the creation of the project eventually involves the whole family – this happens as they realize that the new living conditions affect everyone. And it is very desirable to give them the opportunity to express their wishes, give feedback – this will help to avoid misunderstandings and disputes that often accompany the repair.

This does not mean that you should take all wishes as a signal to action, because they can be very irrational. But still it is necessary to take into account the style preferences of all households, if possible, so that the work on the creation of the interior was colored by joyful anticipation for the whole family.

Any website should fulfill several criteria.

First, it should look good. Secondly, have a convenient and clear navigation. Thirdly, to hold the attention of visitors for as long as possible. And finally, unobtrusively lead them through all stages of the conversion funnel, pushing them to take actions that meet the company’s goals.

Since the purpose of web design is to influence human behavior, designers are increasingly turning to the psychology of color, the correct application of which helps to create more effective interfaces. Color can play on cultural sensitivities, instill trust in the target audience, and create a sense of urgency or mystery.

If you want to develop more successful designs, you need to learn the basics of color psychology. The right colors can help set your customers in the right mood so that they take certain actions. Properly chosen color can increase conversion rates, attracting the attention of users and causing them the necessary emotions for the purchase of goods.

It is the color palette that often determines how people will perceive the brand and its values. Yet the main question remains unanswered: what color is right for my brand? What shade should I choose to make a strong impression?

Psychology plays an important role in the persuasion process. Remember that persuasion should be distinguished from coercion, manipulation or excessive persistence. The point is to change a person’s attitude towards certain things and encourage them to make a purchase or other targeted action.

Color and conversion

Studies have shown that there is a definite link between the color of a product and a person’s desire to purchase it. Every time we see a particular color, a chain of reactions takes place in a special part of the brain, the hypothalamus. The thyroid gland receives hormones that trigger emotions that affect our behavior.

In fact, 62 to 90% of buying decisions are driven by color! So, taking a closer look at the psychology of color will help significantly increase your website’s conversion rate.
When is color especially important?

You may not always think about whether you’re using the right colors, but they all matter. Pay special attention to:

  • images;
  • pop-ups;
  • frames;
  • headers;
  • background colors;
  • important banners and the first screen on the home page;
  • buttons, especially calls to action.

Exactly which color will be most effective for each of the above elements depends on the target audience of the site. Let’s take a closer look at this topic.

Contrast and brightness

Brightness plays one of the key roles in the success of your website. It is generally believed that women prefer muted colors and men prefer brighter colors.

Contrast is another important factor that affects the readability of textual content. No one will want to strain too hard to understand what is written on a CTA button or other interface element.

Do not add too bright or, on the contrary, pale inscriptions on top of other content. Imagine a black “Buy Now” button on a dark gray background. Chances are, you won’t even notice it.

The color scheme of your website affects its accessibility and usability. Unnoticeable navigation elements and drop-down lists are just as bad as not having them at all. Open your site and study it, putting yourself in the user’s shoes, and you’ll see what we’re talking about.
Research in the psychology of color

The following case study was published on the Moz blog: a digital slot machine company simply changed the color of the call to action button from green to yellow. This resulted in a mind-boggling 187.4% increase in conversions!

Test different color schemes on your website, for example, compare several options using the A/B test. As a result, you’ll be able to choose the colors that will have the maximum impact on your target audience.

Consider another study that proves that the psychology of color plays an important role in design. In the academic community, the color red is usually associated with mistakes. Researchers from the University of Rochester decided to test this hypothesis and conducted 4 different experiments. They found that if a student uses the color red, such as wearing a red t-shirt, it actually has a negative effect on their academic performance.

In the world of interior design, each era has its own unique palette of styles that reflect the zeitgeist, societal trends and aesthetic preferences. From the opulent luxury of Art Deco to the austere simplicity of minimalism, these styles present a variety of inspiration, form and function that captivate us visually and emotionally.

An era of luxury and sophistication

Beginning in the late 1910s through the mid-1930s, Art Deco flourished as a man-made movement with exquisite luxury and geometric shapes. Exquisite patterns, precious materials and rich hues inspired designers to create interiors full of elegance and style.

The revival of minimalism

In the 1960s, the design world welcomed a new approach – minimalism. The tendency to simplify form and function, the use of a neutral palette and the absence of unnecessary details became the main features of this style. Minimalism represents a harmony between simplicity and elegance, where each element has its clearly defined role.

Influence on modern design

Modern interior design takes much from the aesthetics of Art Deco and Minimalism, combining elements of luxury with simplicity of form. Open floor plans, clean lines, minimalist furniture and accents of precious materials create modern spaces that are inspiring and satisfying.

Conclusion

The evolution of styles in interior design is not only a story of shapes and colors, but also a reflection of the dynamics of our society and changing ideas about comfort and beauty. From Art Deco to minimalism, each style brings its own unique contribution to the world of design, allowing us to explore, be inspired by and create spaces that reflect our personality and lifestyle.
